Praga successful in the CIK FIA European Championship KZ

• Patrik Hajek 4th place in class KZ
• Jorge Pescador at the top of KZ2 throughout the weekend
• Successful entry into the CIK FIA KZ championship

The International Circuit Napoli hosted CIK FIA European Championship KZ. Praga factory team members have had a challenging month. They took part in the race IAME X30 Challenge in Castelleto. This race was special for Jonathan Thonon, who was behind the karting wheel for the first time since the birth of his daughter, and he managed to win. After that, Jonathan raced at WSK Master Series at La Conca, and from tuere he moved straight to the international circuit Napoli.
65 riders in the class KZ2 and 27 pilots in the class KZ entered the CIK FIA European Championship. Factory team Praga Kart Racing nominated three pilots for the race. Spanish driver Jorge Pescador starting in KZ2 class, and a stable pair of factory pilots Jonathan Thonon and Patrik Hajek in the strongest class KZ.
After Friday’s qualifying the most successful pilot of Praga team was Patrik Hajek, who was able to finish with the sixth fastest time. Same position belonged to Patrik after adding Saturday’s races. Jonathan suffered a technical problem during qualifying and he had to start from the back into the race heats. Jorge Pescador delivered throughout Saturday’s program stable performance in his heats and moved between the fourth and seventh place. After counting all heat races he occupied the eleventh position.
In the Sunday morning warmup, Jorge was the fastest driver in KZ2 class. Due to the contacts with opponents, he however finished Prefinál at the twenty-first position. He started to the final race from the middle of the race grid. In the final Jorge made an excellent start and overtook several of his rivals, but before the end of the opening lap he got into a crash, after which followed his resignation.
Both factory riders in the class KZ in the final rankings improved their position. Jonathan moved up eight places and the finished ninth. Patrik Hajek started from seventh place and immediately moved forward. At the very beginning Patrik fought for fourth place and thus lost contact with trio of Pilots in front. After a few laps he moved into fourth place, rolled edge and keep it up to the finish line.

Next weekend Praga factory team is going to race on the final venture of WSK Super Master, which will be held again at the circuit Napoli.
