Praga Bohema beats six-year-old Spa-Francorchamps lap record
The Praga Bohema supercar has set a new lap record for a road-legal at the legendary Spa-Francorchamps circuit, recording a 2:21.42 lap during a customer track day, beating a Pagani Huayra BC Roadster benchmark that had stood for six years. Remarkably, the achievement was never part of the plan and was completed on road tyres, with other cars on circuit.
Praga joined customers and guests at a Curbstone track day at Spa-Francorchamps on 12 August, bringing a Bohema supercar and Praga test driver Aleš Jirásek for what was intended to be a straightforward customer driving event.
With no dedicated record programme, no special preparations, and no attempt to create ideal conditions, the team decided to see what the Bohema could achieve around one of the world’s most challenging and celebrated racing circuits. The result surprised even the Praga team.
Running on road-legal tyres and sharing the circuit with other high-performance machinery, Jirásek recorded a lap time of 2:21.42, establishing a new lap record for a type-approved, road-legal car on road-legal tyres at Spa-Francorchamps.

Aleš Jirásek, Praga test driver: “We weren’t at Spa to chase a record. We were there with customers to enjoy driving one of the greatest circuits in the world. After a few sessions we realised the conditions were good and decided to see what the Bohema could do.
“It’s incredible how naturally the car delivers this level of performance. We were on road tyres, there was traffic on track, and the car received no special preparation. That speaks volumes about the underlying capability of the Bohema and the engineering behind it.”
The achievement further validates the philosophy behind the Bohema programme: creating a road-legal supercar capable of race car levels of performance while remaining practical and enjoyable to use away from the circuit.
Weighing less than 1,000 kg and producing 700 bhp, the all-carbon Bohema combines lightweight construction, advanced aerodynamics and race-derived engineering to deliver extraordinary performance. Developed with decades of Praga motorsport expertise, the road-legal supercar generates more than 900 kg of downforce at 250 km/h while retaining road car usability.
Tomas Kasparek, Owner of Praga Cars: “This achievement perfectly captures what the Bohema is all about. The fact that the car could then go and establish a new Spa benchmark without a dedicated record-setting programme demonstrates the philosophy behind the Bohema. It was never intended to be a compromised track special. Our objective was to combine genuine race-car performance with the freedom and usability of a road-legal supercar.”
The latest Spa achievement joins a growing list of benchmark performances delivered by the Bohema at some of Europe’s best-known circuits. More importantly, it was achieved in exactly the environment for which the car was designed: a real-world track day, on road tyres, driven by an experienced driver enjoying one of motorsport’s greatest venues.
For owners, that may be the most significant aspect of the result. The same car capable of setting outright production car benchmarks can be driven to the circuit, enjoyed throughout the day, and driven home again afterwards.
