Praga Bohema makes Goodwood debut with Alcon

The race-car inspired, road-legal Praga Bohema made its Goodwood debut last week alongside the hypercar’s official brakes supplier, Alcon, at the 30th edition of the Goodwood Festival of Speed (July 13th to 16th).

In its third public appearance in the UK, the Bohema was selected by Alcon for its 40th anniversary celebrations at the event where approximately 150,000 motorsport fans gathered to see iconic race cars as well as the latest road cars on display and competing up the famous Goodwood hill climb.

Visitors to the Alcon stand included Formula One World Championship winner and twice Indianapolis 500 winner, Emerson Fittipaldi, who was given a tour of the Bohema prototype by chief engineer, Jan Martinek, and professional racing driver and test driver, Ben Collins, who is currently testing the Bohema during the final phases of development.

Having driven the Bohema at circuits including Hockenheim and Spa-Francorchamps in the past weeks, Ben said; “The ABS is very subtle and aggressive. It has to be one of… no, it IS the best braking system I’ve ever experienced in a road car. The ABS remains committed even during combined braking and cornering – I just can’t think of another car with as much driveability on braking and entering.”

Jonathan Edwards, Group Sales Director at Alcon, said: “We were incredibly proud to have the Bohema centre stage on our Alcon booth for the Festival of Speed this year. The car looked absolutely stunning in its bright blue paintwork and I must say the fit and finish looked right up there with the best of the best. A truly stunning piece of engineering that should doubtless show a clean pair of heels to just about ANYTHING out there. A beautiful car with jaw dropping looks, the Bohema sounds just fantastic. I’d love one!”

Known for developing world leading brake systems, Alcon’s powerful six-piston calipers are key to the Bohema’s on-track performance which targets GT3 race car lap times. The Bohema’s next appearance will be at round six of that GT World Challenge at the Nürburgring on July 29th and 30th, with GT1 Sports Club and Curbstone Events.
