The winter break is now behind us; an exciting new season awaits the Praga Karts, Formula K and OK1 racing teams which, as always, are involved on multiple fronts in the most important international competitions.
And this year, with the arrival of the new homologations, the IPK group is ready to bring to the track the new technical solutions developed in 2017, allowing their drivers to increase their competitiveness and aim for the best possible results in every event.
The official IPK racing teams are scheduled to participate in the CIK-FIA competitions, starting with the European Championship in the OK and OKJ categories, where drivers will face off over four rounds: Sarno (Italy), PF International (Great Britain), Ampfing (Germany), and Essay (France).
For the KZ and KZ2 category, two races will decide the European title: Salbris (France) and Lonato (Italy).
Another fundamental date on the 2018 calendar is the KZ World Championship, a competition in which the best drivers in karting’s queen of categories will hit the track at the circuit in Genk (Belgium).
On the same weekend, KZ2 drivers will also take the wheel to challenge for the International Super Cup.
The world championship reserved for the OK and OKJ non-shifter categories, on the other hand, will be held in Kristianstad (Sweden).
But the CIK-FIA races are just the beginning: the IPK team plans also include the WSK competitions, the Winter Cup in Lonato, and other competitions like the IAME Winter Cup, X30 Euro Series and the DKM German Championship.
A challenging and top-level calendar, which in 2018 will once again be able to count on the experience and preparation of Cash Van Belle, confirmed at the head of the Racing Teams’ structures and personally present at the track for the CIK-FIA competitions and the Rotax and X30 events on 4 continents.
Van Belle will also be technical manager: interfacing directly with the technical office, he’ll lead the development of materials in all categories, optimizing them for the various typologies of tyres used in the different competitions.
This organization will allow the official Praga Karts, Formula K, and OK1 racing teams to bring the maximum technical advancement to bear on the track in a short time.
Also confirmed is the Praga Junior Team, which will accompany the MINI category with the important task of helping the youngest drivers grow, improving their driving skills and basic knowledge of vehicle setup in constant dialogue with the technicians. The 2018 season will see the growth of the Formula K Junior Team, which will support the Junior drivers as well as the youngest Mini Kart drivers.
Another crucial event for the IPK group, and not for the first time, will be the Rotax Grand Finals which this year will be held at the International Karting Circuit Paladino in Conde in the State of Paraíba, Brazil. Praga Karts will participate in the International Finals of the Rotax non-shifters, with a significant logistical and technical effort that, like all of IPK’s initiatives, will be undertaken with greatest professionalism by the company’s technicians and administrators.
