Luxury, lightweight and limited: the new Praga ZS 800 motorcycle revealed alongside Bohema hypercar stablemate

117-year-old Czech manufacturer, Praga, has unveiled its limited edition, lightweight ZS 800 motorcycle at a special UK reveal event at luxury and performance car specialist, Premier GT, in West Sussex.

Making its first UK appearance in production-spec form, the ZS 800 was presented as a carbon edition in black and gold, of which only five examples are available within the limited run of 28 hand-built motorcycles. Praga also revealed the production prototype of the road-legal, 700hp Praga Bohema hypercar for the first time alongside the ZS 800, which arrived in the UK for the latest test drive programme ahead of first customer handovers later this year.

The ZS 800 was accompanied by Czech Designer and Engineer, Jan Žuži, who spoke about the combination of high-tech materials and classic design which characterises the motorcycle’s identity and Praga’s lightweight philosophy, with a dry weight of just 142kg.

Žuži said; “From a young age I was truly inspired by Praga and the BD 500, a motorcycle which was very modern for its time and became an icon in Praga history for setting a new endurance record. The understanding of complex, high-grade materials is at the heart of the ZS 800 project. We selected strong and extremely lightweight materials such as carbon, titanium, chrome molybdenum steel and aviation duralumin to make it possible to transfer the BD 500’s elegant historical design elements to the present day and to build a motorcycle with contemporary driving characteristics and a unique feel. I am particularly proud of the ZS 800’s unique features, like the hand-woven carbon rims – a complex artistic pattern of overlapping carbon fibre with intricate carbon tensioned spokes to emulate the look of the BD 500.”

Mark Harrison, Managing Director at Praga Cars UK, said; “We’re excited to be back in the UK for two key milestone activities in Praga’s 117-year history and to be working with our friends at Premier GT. It’s fitting that the ZS 800 is here today alongside the Bohema, as both were created by the same skilled team of engineers. The ZS 800 is a pure passion project, not a branding exercise, from a company that started making great ‘bikes a Century ago. The quality of materials, hand craftsmanship, attention to detail and unique riding experience mirror the same superior standards of design and performance achieved with the Bohema, making the motorcycle and the hypercar ideal stablemates for any keen rider and driver looking for something special.”

David Trigg, Owner and Director of Premier GT, said; “My team and I are very proud to have been chosen by Praga for the UK unveiling of the Praga ZS 800 and to manage the latest test drive programme for the Praga Bohema hypercar. I am passionate about both motorcycles and high-performance cars, and many of Premier GT’s clients share this same appreciation for premium quality, creative design and exceptional performance, not forgetting the pure joy of the ride, whether on two wheels or four.”

The ZS 800 and Bohema will begin a European tour together at high profile events in the UK throughout June before heading to Spa-Francorchamps and the Nürburgring where the Bohema will showcase its aerodynamics, high speed cornering and phenomenal braking performance at two of Europe’s most iconic racetracks.

Priced at €91,000, or €98,800 for the special edition in black carbon and gold, test rides are available in June through Premier GT. To find out more about the Praga ZS 800 visit  pragaglobal.com/motorbikes/zs800 or contact Premier GT: premiergt.com/contact-us.
