Praga Kart Racing after the test in Sweden

  • Multiple days testing
  • Five Praga drivers tried the new circuit
  • Petr Ptáček jr. tested with the factory team

The CIK FIA callendar is full also during the hollydays and so Praga factory team had to react to the high frequency of KZ/KZ2 races. That is the reason why the team truck move to Sweden directly from German Wackersdorf, where the last race took place. In the forests not far from Kritianstadt is located karting circuit that will be hosting the last race of CIK Fia European KZ Championship. This circuit is new to most of Praga drivers and that is the reason why it was nescessary to organize a testing that took more than one day. The main aim of the test was practice for drivers and comparason of chassis. Praga tried multiple setups.

The testing took place on thursday and friday and both days it was sunny and dry weather. There were five Praga drivers on the test. From KZ drivers it was Patrik Hajek and the winner of the last European race – Jonathan Thonon. Jorge Pescador tested KZ2 and young Swedish driver Rasmus Lindh tested KFJ chassis. Rasmus was the only Praga driver that had experience with the local circuit, because he used been testing here during the gap of KFJ races. The fifth driver was young czech driver Petr Ptacek jr. who used free time during his summer hollydays to test on a new circuit.

Drivers have not been put into separate groups, but instead could drive freely all day long from 10:00 to 20:00.

Patrik Hajek describes Swedish circuit: “It is a brand new circuit with a perfect surface, located in the middle of beautiful Swedish nature. At the first look the change of altitude is not aparent, however as soon as you sit in the go-kart you start to feel it. There is a lot of fast long curves, but definatelly the most beautiful part of the circuit are two super fast turns. I was surprised by the grip of local surface. I am really looking forward for the race!”

The sports manager of the team Filip Schovanek: “The last two days were a great advantage for the team and the test prooved to be very important. Team collected great amount of data which will be used in futture days during final prepararion for the race and namely during the initial free practices on thursday before the race. Last few days were difficult for all nembers of a team and I would like to thank them all for their hard work.”

The winner of the last race Jonathan Thonon is now on the third position in the serial. The race will take place at 25.7.2014-27.7.2014.
