The world’s first Praga Bohema supercar was officially handed over to its owner in December, marking an historic milestone for Praga and its new partner, Next Level Cars
The exclusive event, held at Next Level Cars’ headquarters, celebrated the handover of the Bohema in its striking blue and black livery to Dutch client Herman van der Pavert and his family. Racing legend Romain Grosjean, a key figure in the Bohema’s journey from concept to production, personally presented the car keys, adding an extraordinary touch to the occasion.
Grosjean, who has supported the Bohema project since its inception, reflected on the significance of the moment:
“It was great to be part of the first Bohema handover. Over a glass of wine a few years ago I joked with the Praga owner that they should take their carbon and racing experience and make a truly road-competent very-fast track car for two people. A road-legal race car in effect. Well, they did it and hopefully I helped along the way. I’d like to see how Herman enjoys the car on track this year; he just needs to bring it out to Florida!”
The event also showcased Praga’s heritage, with historic cars and motorcycles dating back to 1924, including the limited-edition ZS 800 motorcycle that went into production in 2024. Alongside these classics, the first Dutch-owned Praga R1 race car – an accomplished competitor in the Dutch Supercar Challenge – was also on display, underlining Praga’s commitment to both its history and modern innovation.
Mark Harrison, Praga’s Sales & Marketing Director, commented on the partnership with Next Level Cars:
“We’re really pleased that Paul and Next Level have taken on responsibility for sales, service and aftersales support for the Bohema and R1 in the Benelux area. There is no connection between the two cars, apart from the fact that both are very, very fast on track and will be owned and enjoyed by talented enthusiasts. And that sums up Next Level: Paul and his team are talented enthusiasts for all performance and luxury car services with a strong network across Europe, especially into Germany and Scandinavia, where we hope their influence extends.”
Paul Waltjen, owner/founder Next Level Cars shared his excitement about joining the Praga journey:
“We had already looked at the R1 as a great alternative to the normal track day cars here. Then when our client, Herman van der Pavert showed us his configurated Bohema and said he was receiving the first car that would be handed over by Romain Grosjean, we really wanted to be a part of this story. We pride ourselves on offering the best and bespoke service to car collectors and liked Praga’s attitude that the best service provider to a Bohema owner is not who Praga dictates, but who the owner prefers. This should be a great relationship.”
The successful handover of the Bohema signals the start of an exciting chapter for Praga. Following record sales of the Praga R1 in 2024, Praga is actively expanding its global dealer network and is seeking sales and service partners in the US, South America, Europe and the Middle East.
